Director of ‘Angar Vaadi’ Rauf Khalid passes away

Director of ‘Angar Vaadi’ Rauf Khalid passes awayFamous television writer, director and actor Abdul Rauf Khalid passed away on Thursday Nov 24 in road accident. He was traveling from Islamabad to Sheikhupura.

Khalid was the President and Chancellor of the National Institute of Cultural Studies (NICS) and Lok Virsa Islamabad. His best screenplays were ‘Angar Vaadi’, ‘Guest House’ and film ‘Laaj’. Film had won 14 Graduate Awards, 12 Bolan Awards, 4 national Film Awards and last but not least a Lux Style Award. Apart from these awards, he had also received the prestigious ‘Pride of Performance Award.’
Khalid was also a good painter, speaker, lyricist and educationalist. According to reports, Khalid lost his life in road accident when his car’s one tyre got burst.

Like his other colleagues, Atiqa Odho also shocked to hear the news that Khalid has passed away in road accident. ‘My condolences are with his family. It’s really hurting to see such a young life lost,’ she added.

Deceased has left behind a wife, two sons and a daughter.
