Swati girl and the brave daughter of Pakistan, Malala Yousafzai has been nominated for the International Children Peace Award.
Malala is 13-years-old girl. She lived in Mangora, Swat Valley. Her father is a principal of school. Back in 2003 to 2009, when the Taliban became the de-facto rulers of Pakistan's Swat region they ordered girls’ schools to close as part of an edict banning girls' education. At the time, Malala was just 11, but she spoke out through an anonymous diary on BBC Urdu's website, later featured in two New York Times documentaries and Geo’s Program ‘Capital Talk’.
