LAHORE: 3rd Annual Inter School Dramatic Festival 2011 held at Ali Institute of Education here on Saturday. Chief Guest of the event was Public Affairs Officer US Consulate Jennifer A Larson.

Eleven (11) teams from various school of Lahore (government, semi-government and private schools) participated in the competition. Non profit organization Seeds of Peace organized this event with the aim to create a unique pool of students that are not introduced to each other at events and encourage them to understand the diversity that exists within our own community.

Raheel holds his Solo Exhibition at KarachiKARACHI: Exhibition of Muzzumil Raheel held at VM Art Gallery of Rangoonwala Community Centre.

Raheel has depicted the behaviour of international community towards Muslims, particularly Pakistanis, besides illustrating the evils within our own society. While commenting over his art piece named one upon thirty, he said that he tried his level best to explain that elements in international community, alleging us (Pakistanis) for extremism, were misinterpreting the society.

Solo exhibition of Waseem Ahmed ‘Folding, Unfolding’ launchedKARACHI: Solo exhibition titled ‘Folding of Unfolding’ Waseem Ahmed held, at the Canvas Art Gallery Karachi.

Waseem Ahmed depicted the transformation of his figurative work into miniature. The pictures on exhibition reflect an impression of being a gift as Ahmed used gouache on Wasli paper in a beautiful manner that was difficult to distinguished.

Waseem Ahmed’s miniature exhibition kicks off

LAHORE: Waseem Ahmed’s artworks were put on display at the Drawing Room Art Gallery on Wednesday. Many art lovers and celebrities attended the event and appreciated the exhibited artwork.

Waseem has been an internationally acclaimed miniature artist since the past 10 years, and has developed a compelling and complex body of works. In the current exhibition, Waseem draws on iconic images from famous western paintings as inspiration to investigate the universality of miniature as an art form, including images of outstanding works by Boticelli, Ingres and Manet.
